The life size sculpture “Partners” (the boy leading a mule) has been installed in front of the lock keepers house on the towpath of the Miami and Erie Canal in New Bremen, Ohio. It is located near the Southwest corner of S. Rt. 66 and St. Rt. 274. Wanda’s clay original was cast into bronze by Roger Smith at Michiganartcastings.com. This bronze is now a part of the Komminsk Legacy Park.

Forgotten Faces Copyright © Bronze Colors: white or brown Open Edition
Thousands of Dine (Navajo) were forced, by the U.S. Government, to give up their freedom and make the 350 mile journey, known as the long walk, to the reservation at Bosque Redondo. Those too weak to keep up were killed. This included children women giving birth, the elderly and the sick. Their faces have long been forgotten, but we must never forget these courageous people and this dark chapter of our nation’s history.
