Red River Cowhand Bronze with Travertine Base 17" H x 8" W x 8" D Limited Edition of 30
$2,500
Black Cowhands played a vital role in the cattle industry in the late 1800’s. During the Civil War, when many white ranchers went off to war, their slaves ran the ranches. They learned every aspect of cattle ranching and put these talents to use after the war. As the cattle industry grew in the west, the Black Cowboy found much better opportunities and earned more respect as cowhands than they could in other vocations.
